II. Reading Comprehension

Read the story given below carefully and choose
correct options as answers to the questions that follow.
An old monk lived in a monastery which was situated high
on a mountain. One day he found a tiger cub trapped in a
pit. Taking pity on the animal, he rescued it and took it back
home. He fed it with warm milk and treated its wounds.
Soon the cub was restored to its health. From then on, it
became the monk’s pet. It seldom left his side and it was
friendly to everyone. The monk gained the reputation of
being a tiger-tamer.
One day, the monk was making a journey to a nearby
temple. Along the way, he accidentally cut his foot on some
thorns. He allowed his pet tiger to lick the blood. The blood
excited the tiger greatly. Having tasted blood, the tiger
became wild. Sadly, it attacked its master before escaping
into the forest.
