Analyse the character of the teacher in the story ‘Crime and Punishment’.

17. The poem ‘Rice’ shows the tendency of modern farmers to replace food crops by cash
crops. Write a blog describing the ill effects of this change in attitude.

incidents in ‘Post Early For Christmas’ occurred. Write a newspaper report about it.

I will go to my grave clean !” These words show how honest and faithful Baldwin is !

25. ‘Dangers of Drug Abuse’ by Hardin B. Jones focuses on the effects of drugs on the
brain and body. But you recognise its effects on society too. Write an essay on drug
abuse and its impact on the society.

26. Inspired by Shaheen Mistri you wish to join Akanksha Foundation as a teacher-
volunteer. You are Smitha, a post graduate in English Literature. Being a socially
responsible person you are willing to share your knowledge and skill for the benefit of
the underprivileged. Prepare a letter of application and a resume to be sent to the
foundation.

27. Read the lines from the poem ‘Silent, Strong Dad’ written by Karen K. Boyer.
He never looks for praises,
He’s never one to boast,
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most
His dreams are seldom spoken,
His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries,
Will go unspoken, too.
He’s there ..... a firm foundation
Through all our storms of Life
A sturdy hand to hold onto
In times of stress and strife
A true friend we can turn to
When times are good or bad
One of our greatest blessings,
