Entrance Test i.e., on 15.05.2026 and will not be permitted to leave the hall before 12.00
NOON.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES APPEARING TG ECET-
2026 TEST FOR ADMISSION INTO LATERAL ENTRY B.E. / B.TECH. / B.PHARM Programs
IN THE STATE OF TELANGANA FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026-2027.

1. General:

This is a common application form for appearing at the Telangana Engineering Common Entrance
Test for Diploma candidates & B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree candidates TG ECET [FDH &
B.Sc.(Mathematics)]–2026 for lateral entry into B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm. Programs in the State of
Telangana. Before filling the application form, candidates are required to go through the
information contained in this booklet which gives the requirements for appearing at TG ECET [FDH
& B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2026. The G.O.s issued earlier to conduct ECET before state bifurcation
are adapted to conduct TG ECET - 2026 by the Government of Telangana according to G.O. Ms. No.
33 dated 31.12.2014.

2. Entrance Test:

A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Telangana Engineering Common Entrance Test for
Diploma candidates and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree candidates and in short as TG ECET [FDH
& B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026 will be conducted by Osmania University Hyderabad on behalf of the
Telangana Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2026-2027 in accordance with
G.O.Ms.No:24 Education (EC) Department dated:18.03.2004, G.O.Ms.No:25, dated:28.06.2006
and G.O.Ms.No:19, dated: 02.02.2008 for Diploma Holders and G.O.Ms.No.57 (EC2)
dated:12.05.2008 & G.O.Ms. No. 58 (EC2) dated: 12.05.2008 for B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree
holders, G.O. Ms. No. 15 (EC) dated:18.8.2014.

(i) Lateral entry admissions through common entrance test into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech.
Programs approved by All India Council for Technical Education & University in University
colleges and Affiliated Engineering colleges (Minority & Non-Minority) in the State of
Telangana.
and
(ii) For lateral entry admissions through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year Regular
B. Pharmacy Course in both University and private professional institutions (Minority &
Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.

Note: B.Sc. (Mathematics) degree holders are not eligible for admission into B. Pharmacy
Course.

Test Details:
The Entrance Test is of three hours duration and Question Paper consists of total 200
questions as per Pattern of entrance Test. All questions will be objective type (Multiple choice
only). Each question carries one mark. Date and Timings of the Test is 15-05-2026 (Friday)
from 09.00 AM to 12.00 NOON (for ECE, EIE, CSE, EEE, CIV, CHE, MEC, MIN, MET, PHM, BSM).

 For Diploma: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering specialization.
 For Pharmacy: Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy,
Pharmacology & Toxicology
 For B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree: Mathematics, Analytical Ability and
Communicative English.

1. During the ONLINE submission of TG ECET-2026 Application form the candidates are informed to
select the required Test Zone of his/her choice.
2. The allocation of Test Zone will be based on First cum First Registration basis.
3. The Chairman, TG ECET-2026 reserves the right to add or delete any Center and allot candidates to
test Center accordingly. The Center allotted by the Chairman, TG ECET-2026 is final. No request for
change of Center will be entertained under any circumstances.

4. Eligibility to appear for the Entrance Test:
Candidates should satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for appearing at the TG
ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2026 for lateral entry admission through Common Entrance
Test into 2nd year regular B.E./ B.Tech. programs approved by All India Council for Technical
Education for both University and Un-aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority & Non-
Minority) and for lateral entry admission through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year Regular
B.Pharmacy Courses in both University and Un-Aided Private Professional Institutions (Minority &
Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
(i) Candidate should be of Indian Nationality.
(ii) The candidates should satisfy local/un-reserved status requirements as specified in the AP
Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended,
read with G.O. Ms No. 15, Higher Education (TE) Department, Dated: 27-02-2025.
(iii) Candidate should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from
the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana or any other Diploma recognized by
the Government of Telangana as equivalent there to for admission into the relevant B.E./
B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy programs as given in the Annexure.

Candidate should have passed the 3-year B.Sc. Degree Examination with Mathematics as
one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana
or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the Annexure.

NOTE: Candidates appearing for qualifying examination in the academic year 2025-2026 are
also eligible. They have to submit the qualifying certificate with required percentage of marks
at the time of admission.

(iv) Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course under sandwich pattern shall be eligible for
entry into the relevant B.E / B.Tech. / B.Pharmacy programs provided they have completed
the practical training for the sandwich course before completion of counseling for
Admissions.
(v) Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy or B.Sc.
(Mathematics) Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of
candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses. Candidates
should have appeared and qualified at the TG ECET - 2026.
(vi) Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be
considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirements of
eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.

2. The eligibility criteria for admission into the new B.E./B.Tech. programmes permitted by the Government of Telangana will be considered at
the time of admission based on the Telangana Government Orders FOR THE Academic year 2026-27 (Lateral entry admission).

However, in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant G.Os / Amendments / Notifications to
be issued from time to time.

6. Criteria for Admission:

The following order of preference shall be observed in considering Diploma Candidates for
admission into various courses:

a. For admission into Degree programme in Information Technology, first preference will be
given to candidates who have obtained the Diploma in Information Technology. Any seats
still vacant shall be filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of
Engineering / Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking.

b. For admission into Degree programme in Textile Technology, candidates who have
obtained their Diploma in Textile Technology (Design & Manufacturing) and Textile
Technology (Knitting) must necessarily have completed their Intermediate or equivalent
with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

c. Diploma candidates of Special Diploma course in Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation
Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering have to appear for TG ECET [FDH
& B.Sc.(Mathematics)]- 2026 Examination in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
(EIE) for admission into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) course. However,
in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant
G.Os/ Amendments / Notifications to be issued at the time of admissions.

7. Qualifying marks in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc. (Mathematics)]-2026.

The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-
2026 is 25% of the aggregate marks in the four subjects (three subjects for B.Sc. Mathematics)
i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no
minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates. The rank obtained with the benefit of
relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at the TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026
by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST category will be cancelled in case the claim is
found to be invalid at the time of admission.

8. Evaluation and ranking at TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026:

a. The student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on the marks obtained by
him/her in the TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026 Examination.
b. Every care will be taken to avoid errors in valuation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and
ranking. Hence, request for re-totaling, revaluation or personal identification of
anything related to Online Examination will in no case be entertained. Candidates
will be ranked in the order of merit in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026
separately in each branch of Engineering Course.
c. As per G.O. Ms. No. 58 dated: 12-05-2008, for admission into B.E. / B. Tech in
Information Technology, first preference will be given to candidates who have obtained
the diploma in Information Technology. Any seats still vacant shall be filled with
candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology
on the basis of their integrated merit ranking obtained in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.
(Mathematics)] - 2026.
d. As per G.O. Ms. No. 58 dated: 12-05-2008, for admission into B.E./ B.Tech in

Computer Science and Engineering, first preference will be given to candidates who
have obtained the diploma in Computer Science & Engineering. Any seats still vacant
shall be filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of
Engineering / Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking obtained in
TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026. The Integrated Merit Rank is based on the
total marks obtained in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2026 by candidates with
Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology.

e. (i) Engineering:
In case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Engineering subject, and in case
of further tie the marks obtained in the Mathematics subject and if the tie still
continues, the marks obtained in physics subject will be taken into account to decide
the relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the four
subjects, they will be bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. Age of the candidate
will be considered at the time of admission for resolving the tie, the older candidate
being given preference.

(ii) Pharmacy:
Candidates will be ranked on the basis of merit in TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-
2026. In case of tie the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination will be
taken into consideration. On further tie, age will be taken into consideration; the older
candidate will be given priority at the time of admission.

(iii) B.Sc.(Mathematics):
Candidates will be ranked based on the marks obtained in the entrance examinations. In
case of a tie in aggregate, the marks obtained in Mathematics subject and in case of
further tie the aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination shall be taken
into account to resolve the tie at the time of admission. On further tie, age will be taken
into consideration; the older candidate will be given priority at the time of admission.

9. General Information:

i. Any malpractice cases will be dealt with as per rules of State Level Common Entrance Tests of
Telangana in force.

ii. In any litigation concerning TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2026 the parties to be
impleaded are Secretary, Telangana Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad and
Convener, TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2026.

iii. Any litigation concerning TG ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2026 shall be within the
jurisdiction of the High Court of Telangana only.

RESERVATION OF SEATS

Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in each course in the Educational Institutions in the
State for local candidates of OU area as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions
(Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended and the remaining 15% of the
seats shall be un-reserved seats to the following:
a. All the candidates eligible to be declared as local candidates of O.U. area.
b. Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding periods of
study outside the State or either of whose parents have resided in the State for a total period of
ten years excluding periods of employment outside the State;
c. Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central
Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-
public institutions within the State; and
d. Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government
Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and educational institutions recognized
by the Government or a University or other competent authority and similar other quasi-
Government institutions within the State.
