TEST (TET)- 2026 FOR LOWER PRIMARY & UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL
(For BODO, GARO, MANIPURI and HMAR mediums)

It is for general information that the Government of Assam, in
provision of Section 23 of the RTE Act – 2009 has decided to conduct
the Special A s s a m Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2026 for Lower
Primary and Upper Primary level for the Bodo, Garo, Manipuri and
Hmar medium as per the guidelines laid down by NCTE and thereby
on-line applications are invited from the candidates having permanent
residence of Assam who intend to appear in Paper I (Lower Primary)
and Paper II (Upper Primary) of Special Assam TET-2026.
1. It is for General information that considering the shortage of
respective Language-1 (L-1) teachers in considerable number of Bodo,
Garo, Manipuri and Hmar medium Elementary schools of the State,
applications are invited for Special Assam TET-2026.
2. The qualified candidates of the Special Assam TET-2026 will be
eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the teacher post of
elementary level schools provided they have other academic and
professional qualification as per NCTE norms.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in the Special Assam TET-
2026 are as follows:
A. Candidate must be a permanent resident of the State of Assam.
B. Candidate must have minimum academic and professional
qualification as per NCTE norms as follows:
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET
(Classes I to V)
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-
year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-
year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El.Ed.)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-

year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by
whatever name known)
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET
(Classes VI to VIII)
Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by
whatever name known)
OR
At least 50% marks in Graduation and B. Ed.
OR
At least 55% marks in Post Graduation or equivalent grade and three
year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-
year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-
year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or
B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special
Education)
Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be
applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to
the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or

equivalent course prior to the 29 July, 2011.
Relaxation: Following relaxation will be applicable
Relaxation up to 5% in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation
shall be applicable for candidates belonging to
SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in Special Assam TET- 2026
(The degree of handicap in case of PH candidates should be
minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both
for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).
3. STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF SPECIAL ASSAM TET-2026:

Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Upper
Primary level (classes VI to VIII).

mark. Total marks will be 150.
4. Duration of examination: 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2
½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes’ time (per
hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.
5. Minimum Marks for qualifying in Special Assam TET- 2026:
A candidate is required to score 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150 marks
in total and also has to score minimum 60% i.e. 18 marks out of 30
marks in Language-1 section of Paper I (LP Level) and Paper II (UP
Level), as applicable, to qualify the S p e c i a l A s s a m Teachers’
Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST
(Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5% in total
and 10% relaxation in Language-1 section. Thus, for these
candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 marks out of 150 marks i.e.
55% in total and 15 marks out of 30 marks i.e. 50% in Language-1

section.
6. There will be no negative marking.
7. Medium of question paper: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, English
8. Syllabus: The syllabus for Paper- I & Paper II will be available in the
website
https://sebaonline.org, https://www.ssa.assam.gov.in, and
https://scert.assam.gov.in
9. Center Districts of Examination: To be selected by candidate at
the time of submission of online application for appearing in Special
Assam TET - 2026. Candidate will have to select one Centre District
only.

10. Validity: The Special Assam TET- 2026 certificate unless
otherwise notified by the appropriate Government, would remain valid
for life time from the date of issue of the certificate by the Empowered
Committee, TET, Govt. of Assam.
1 1 . Time schedule for Special Assam TET- 2026 for Online
Application and Date of Examination etc.: A portal will be opened
on 07/01/2026 and separate Notifications will be issued regarding
opening for receipt of On-Line Application and last date of receipt of On-
L i n e Application, Issue of E-Admit Card, Date of Examination in the
portal. Interested candidates are requested to visit
https://sebaonline.org, http://www.ssa.assam.gov.in, and
https://scert.assam.gov.in on regular basis for updates.

13. Steps for submission of on-line Application and examination
fee are:
a. Log-in through the website https://sebaonline.org

b. Read carefully the Instructions on how to submit the online
application form.
c. Submit Online Application and upload recent Passport size colour
Photograph, Signature, Pass Certificate of Professional Qualification
of recommended size (as mentioned in Instructions).
d. The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/ credit
card/ debit card etc. he/ she can take print out of the Online
Application form.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
i. The Test will be for Paper-I (Lower Primary) and Paper –II (Upper
Primary) as per the syllabus uploaded on the website of SSA, Assam
and SCERT, Assam.
ii. Candidates who intend to appear in both the papers i.e. Paper I and
Paper II will have to pay the fee for both the papers separately and
will have to submit Online Application accordingly.
iii. Candidates must pay the examination fee through online mode
only.
iv. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
v. Appearing/qualifying in Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test-2026
will not confer the right to claim for appointment/engagement for
any post of teacher. Teacher recruitment in
Government/Provincialised schools will be a separate process as
and when vacancy arises.
vi. TET is only one of the qualifying criteria for applying for Teacher
recruitment in elementary level schools. The qualified candidates of
the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test-2026 will be able to
participate in the recruitment process of teachers only in the State
of Assam as per norms.
vii. There will be no verification of documents in support of qualification
etc. of candidates while appearing in Special Assam Teacher
Eligibility Test- 2026. However, documents of a Special Assam
Teacher Eligibility Test-2026 qualified candidate will be verified
during the time of teacher engagement process by the concerned
authority. In case of submission of false information/claim regarding
qualification etc, he/she will be criminally liable.
viii. Examination will be conducted in different Centres as mentioned in
point No. 9 i.e. Centre District of Examination and candidate must
mention his/her option for the District in the online application form.
ix. Incomplete form will be summarily rejected. Candidate must be
very careful while submitting the online application form. Claims for
correction will not be entertained.
x. Before filling up of on-line application, the candidate has to go
through the Instructions for online application.
