We may stay without food but none of us can live without water. A cool
refreshing drink is something we long for on a hot summer’s day.
Drinks can be classified into two types : alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Some
examples of alcoholic drinks are spirits, wine and beer. Under the non-
alcoholic type we have two kinds of drinks hot and cold. Tea and coffee
are good examples of hot drinks, though cold coffee is not uncommon now
a days.

We now come to the cold drinks. These can be further classified into aerated
and non-aerated. Some examples of aerated drinks are soda, lemonade, coca-

3. Read the passage given below and complete the sentences that follow :
There was a massive earthquake, which shook the houses violently and
people ran out into the open. I was always wondering how the experience
of being in an earthquake would be. Here I am now, in the middle of
an earthquake. There were five trees that were uprooted in the street opposite
our house. There was destruction to such an extent that many houses had
large cracks on the walls.
Though many people were hurt, it is possible that some escaped without
any injury. By afternoon, there were rescue workers that were helping to

find people who were injured and take them to safety. Thankfully, no one
in my family was injured. There is no doubt that I will ever forget this
catastrophe.
