FASHION DESIGNING PAPER 2 (PRACTICAL) (Maximum Marks: 30) (Time allowed: Three hours) (Candidates are allowed additional 15 minutes for only reading the paper. Attempt Question 2 and Question 3, selecting one of the two given options, in each question. The intended marks for questions or parts of questions are given in brackets [ ]. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 1 (i) Prepare a design for dyeing the given scarf of cotton material (12"  12"), using any [2] two techniques of Tie and Dye. (ii) Write the procedure of dyeing the sample in one colour. Mention the techniques [2] used. (iii) Using the above-mentioned techniques, tie and dye the given material. [5] (iv) Iron and submit it to the Visiting Examiner. [1] Question 2 Attempt any one of the following: (i) Fibre identification: You are given two different textile fibres. (a) Mention two tests for identifying each fibre. [1] (b) Identify the two textile fibres, using the above-mentioned tests and write your [4] observations and conclusions. (ii) Macramé: (a) Prepare a suitable design for making a macramé plant hanger with any two [2] appropriate macramé knots, using the given cords. (b) Prepare the sample of 2·5 inches in length and 1 inch in width. [3] Show the finished sample to the Visiting Examiner. Question 3 Attempt any one of the following: (i) Printing: (a) Plan and prepare a design for a cushion cover. [1] (b) Print the planned design on the cloth provided, using leaves and vegetables. [4] Show the finished sample to the Visiting Examiner. OR (ii) Repair work: (a) Write the procedure for repairing a hole by patchwork. [2] (b) Repair the given cloth by patchwork. [3] Show the repaired cloth to the Visiting Examiner. Assessment of Journal: In addition to the above, the Journal of the candidate containing a record of work done throughout the year is to be evaluated as follows: Record of work done throughout the year (to be evaluated by the teacher).
