Hall Tickets and Rank Cards:

The candidates should note that the Hall Tickets and Rank Cards will not be sent by post.
They have to download from the website as detailed below:
1. The candidates have to download Hall Tickets from the website https://lawcet.tgche.ac.in one
week before the Test by entering his/her details.

2. The candidates are also advised to download the Rank Cards from the website
https://lawcet.tgche.ac.in after publication of results.

3. In case of any difficulty the candidates may contact the office of the TG LAWCET-2026
(Phone No. 7396114993,9908021100) for information.

I. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

The TG Law common Entrance Test – 2026 & its admissions will be made in strict compliance of the
Rules and Regulations of the University Concerned, BCI, TGCHE and relevant G.O.s of TG that are in
force and also amendments that may come into force from time to time.
1. The list of recognized/approved Law Colleges along with the sanctioned strength and the courses that
are permitted by the Bar Council of India/University concerned/TGCHE and the seats for which the
Government is competent to make admissions for the academic year 2026-2027 will be informed after
publication of the results.
2. The admission process will be notified separately by the TGCHE, Hyderabad.
3. Specific instructions to submit the online application form are given on the website: lawcet.tgche.ac.in
Please go through the instructions carefully before filling the online application form.

#NOTE: The Convener, TG LAWCET & PGLCET – 2026 shall be responsible for conducting the
Common Entrance Tests (TG LAWCET & PGLCET – 2026) under the aegis of TGCHE. He/She shall not
be responsible for making admissions, allotment of seats at the time of admissions which task may be
entrusted by the TGCHE to any other Professor/Officer. The candidates are advised to contact the
concerned Convener (Admissions), duly appointed for any purpose whatsoever relating to admissions; and
not the Convener (Test).

II. INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING ENTRANCE TEST

1. A Candidate appearing for the required basic qualifying examinations (i.e.,
Graduation/Intermediate) may also take the TG LAWCET in anticipation of results. In case of
such students, their entry shall be subject to their securing eligible percentage of marks in the
required basic qualifying examination.
2. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or Graduation/Post Graduation through Open
Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for admission
into the law courses.
3. Mere appearance in TG LAWCET will not give any right of admission. The candidate
should satisfy all the eligibility criteria and should satisfy rules governing admission as are
applicable.
4. Nationality and Domicile: The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy
Local/Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the (AP)Telangana Educational
Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and the amendments made thereto from
time to time.
5. Regional Centres of Entrance Test for 3 year / 5 year LL.B. Courses: Available on the
website - https://lawcet.tgche.ac.in
6. The CONVENER, TG LAWCET-2026 reserves the right to reject the application of any
candidate at any stage, and there will not be any correspondence, if the candidate fails to satisfy
the eligibility conditions, or other rules of admissions.
No correspondence will be entertained with regard to rejection of application on any one or more
of the above grounds.
For Example: The Online Application Form is incomplete, incorrect, if the candidate is not eligible
and has not submitted the application within the due date etc.,

7. While uploading the Photo in application form, the passport size photograph should be
scanned. Selfies and other mode of photos are not accepted.
8. Any change whatsoever including that of Caste/Community/Category will not be permitted
to be made in the application after generation of Payment Receipt.
9. Medium of Entrance Test: The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu or
English and Urdu.
10. The Candidates are advised to Download the Hall tickets and Rank Cards from the website
https://lawcet.tgche.ac.in
11. Qualifying marks in TG LAWCET-2026: The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance
Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes
or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed.
12. The candidate shall pay a minimum fee of Rs. 500/- per question for raising any objection
to the question or preliminary key. If the objection is deemed valid, the fee will be refunded
within 7 days from the date of publication of the final results.
13. TG LAWCET-2026 Results:
a. Evaluation: Every care will be taken to avoid errors in evaluation, checking, scrutiny,
tabulation and ranking. Hence, request for re-totalling or revaluation will not be entertained.
b. Ranking: The candidates will be ranked in the order of merit based on the marks obtained
in the TG LAWCET-2026. In case of tie, the relative rank will be decided as mentioned
below.
(i) By considering the marks secured in Part-C of TG LAWCET and if the tie still
persists marks obtained in Part-B in TG LAWCET shall be taken into consideration.
(ii) If the tie still persists they may be bracketed together for the purpose of ranking and
seniority in age may be considered at the time of admission.
c. Rank obtained in TG LAWCET-2026 is valid for admission into 3 year/ 5 year Law Course
for the academic year 2026-2027 only.
d. The Candidates are advised to download the Rank Card from the website
https://lawcet.tgche.ac.in after the publication of results.
14. The conduct of TG LAWCET-2026 is subject to orders and instructions issued by the
Government of Telangana from time to time.
15. Test Paper Information: The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to
pursue the Law Course. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120
and the duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120.
Part – A: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental
Ability.
Part – B: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs.
Part – C: Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law.
Out of these 60 Questions a total of 10 Questions will be based on or related to the comprehension of
legal passages given.

16. For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course,
the standard expected is of Degree Level.
The questions in Part-C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic
principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the Part of the Student is assumed.
The Questions will be objective type including multiple choices questions, matching items.
Each Question contains four alternative answers numbered as 1, 2, 3 and 4. Candidates have to
exercise their choice in answering the question (See Mock Test).
17. Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of Hall Ticket will automatically lead to the
disqualification of the candidate from appearing at the test and liable for prosecution.
18. The candidate will not be allowed into the examination hall after the commencement of
examination. (NOTE: Gate will be closed before 15 minutes of the commencement of the
examination)
19. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted places till the completion of the Examination. In
no case they will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the end of the examination.
20. The online question paper shall consist of 120 multiple choice type questions in THREE different
parts with four responses given to each question out of which only one response is correct.
Candidates shall mark the correct answer.
21. There is no negative mark for incorrect answer.
22. The Candidate should carefully fill all the columns in the application and enter correct address.
23. The candidate should satisfy the Local/Unreversed status requirement as laid down in the
regulations of admissions. (Ref. G.O. Ms. No 64 dated 26.05.2006 and its amendments).

24. All disputes arising out of any matter concerning TG LAWCET-2026 shall be subject to the
jurisdiction of the TG High Court only. In such disputes, only Convener, TG LAWCET-2026 &
Secretary, TGCHE Hyderabad can be impleaded as respondents. Any litigation concerning TG
LAWCET-2026 received within a month from date of declaration of result is considered.

25. Admissions: The Admission into LL.B. Course (Regular and Self Financing) offered by
different Universities (including the concerned affiliated colleges) will be made basing on the
TG LAWCET-2026 Rank and also as per Rules and Regulations of TG LAWCET by the
Convener, Admissions appointed by TGCHE.

26. The candidates who qualified in TG LAWCET and completed their studies upto intermediate
for 5 years integrated law course and degree for 3 years law course in State other than
Telangana are not eligible for admissions under Convener Quota. Such candidates are eligible
for admission under National Integration Quota (NIQ)/Management Quota provided the
candidate satisfies all the other eligibility conditions.

Separate counselling will be conducted for candidates seeking admission under National
Integration Quota (NIQ) in University Campus law college and Constituent Law Colleges and
candidates may contact Private Law colleges for admission under Management quota.

27. NORMALIZATION OF QUESTION PAPER: TG LAWCET 3-years course will be conducted in
two sessions based on the same syllabus, same pattern for candidates having same eligibility criteria. A
candidate has been permitted to appear only in one session. Since the question paper is different for each

session, there is a possibility that the candidates may compare themselves about the variation in the
difficulty levels of question paper. However, it may be noted that utmost care will be taken so that all
the sessions are of the same standard. Further, it is decided to adopt a normalization process to eliminate
any such variations in the difficulty levels of various sessions. The main aim of the Normalization is to
ensure that no student gets advantage/disadvantage due to multiple sessions.

The normalization process brings all the candidates across two sessions on a comparative scale.
Due to this process, the marks of the easy session may be reduced marginally and marks of hard session
may increase marginally on the global scale. This depends exactly on the average performance in each
session. Since care is taken to prepare papers of equal difficulty, these changes are expected to be very
marginal. Normalized marks justify the candidates while respecting their actual performance. Hence, the
following normalization procedure is adopted which is being followed by other competitive
Examinations in India to avoid advantage/disadvantage to candidates in a particular session compared to
the other sessions.
Normalized marks of the candidate,
GTA−GASD
=GASD + STA−SASD x (Mark obtained by the candidate in the subject in a session – SASD)
Where,
SASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of the subject of a session in which
the candidate appeared.
GASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of all the candidates across all
sessions of the subject put together.
STA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the subject of a session in which the
candidate appeared.
GTA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all the sessions of the subject
put together.

Note: For the candidates for whom there is no qualifying cut-off, for example for SC/ST candidates in
TG LAWCET 3-years course, if the mark in TG LAWCET 3-years course after normalization goes
below zero (negative), the mark is treated as zero. If the tie persists, then TG LAWCET 3-years course
normalization marks (though negative) are considered for resolving the tie.

28. RESERVATION OF SEATS:
As per G.O. Ms. No. 15, Higher Education (TE) Department, Dated: 27-02-2025, Admission to
85% of the seats shall be reserved in each course in the Educational Institutions in the State for
local candidates of OU area as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions
(Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended and the remaining 15% of the
seats shall be un-reserved seats to the following:

a. All the candidates eligible to be declared as local candidates of O.U. area.

b. Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding periods of
study outside the State or either of whose parents have resided in the State for a total period of
ten years excluding periods of employment outside the State

c. Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central
Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-
public institutions within the State; and

d. Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government
Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and educational institutions recognized
by the Government or a University or other competent authority and similar other quasi-
Government institutions within the State
