How to use this list
• Entrance exams. TNEA, which uses Class 12 marks rather than an entrance test governs the Tamil Nadu state
quota. JEE Main is used for NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats, and JEE Advanced for the IITs.

• A rank is not a ranking of your experience. NIRF measures the institution as a whole, not the individual branch,
such as CSE or ECE. An institution ranked lower overall may still be the stronger choice for the one you want.

• Participation is voluntary. A good college missing from this list may simply not have submitted data. Absence is
not evidence of poor quality.

• Bands hide detail. Inside 101–150 or 201–300 the colleges are listed alphabetically, so position in that list carries
no meaning at all.

• Check the year. These are the India Rankings 2025 figures, released September 2025. The 2026 edition is
expected later in 2026 and will supersede them.
