25. “Examination” means “Gujarat Common Entrance Test”. 26. “Paper-setter” means “Expert preparing question paper for the GUJCET”. 27. “Scheduled Caste (SC)” means ‘’the caste certified as Scheduled Caste by the Government”. 28. “Scheduled Tribes (ST)” means ‘’the caste certified as Scheduled Tribes by the Government”. 29. “Other Backward Classes (OBC)” means “the castes certified as Other Backward Classes by the Government”. 2. EXAMINATION SCHEME : 2.1 Administration of GUJCET : The administration of the examination shall be done by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar. 2.2 Curriculum of GUJCET : In the academic year 2023-24, the NCERT based (reduced) syllabus adopted by Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar for the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination, Standeard 12 Science Stream, will be the Syllabus for GUJCET-2024 Examination. 2.3 Examination Scheme for GUJCET : For Guiarat Common Entrance Test, there shall be multiple choice question papers of the following subjects and the number of questions, marks and time shall be as mentioned against them : Sr. No. Subject Questions Marks Time } } 120 minutes 1. Mathematics 40 40 60 minutes * There shall be combined question paper for Physics and Chemistry. i.e. 40 questions of Physics and 40 questions of Chemistry and, thus, total 80 questions, 80 marks and 120 minutes will be given. OMR Answer Sheet shall also be for 80 answers. The question papers for Biology and Mathematics shall be separate and for that separate OMR Answer-sheet shall also be given. It means 40 questions in Biology and Mathematics each, 40 marks and 60 minutes time shall be given. OMR answer sheet will be also for 40 answers. 2.4 Regarding Merit List of Candidates : (1) The concerned admission committee will prepare a merit list for the admission in Degree engineering, Degree/Diploma Pharmacy courses considering the percentile in theory of subjects of the selected group (A or B or AB) and GUJCET percentile. The weightage of the percentiles will be based on the provisions of the rules of admission published from time to time. (2) In the year 2024, admission will be given as per the merit list prepared considering the theory percentile in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology of Standard 12 in the examination held by Gujarat Secondary 3
