ART PAPER 5 Crafts ‘A’ (Maximum Marks: 100) (Time allowed: Three hours) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INSTRUCTIONS Instruments and tracing paper are allowed, but you are advised to restrict your use of them as far as possible. Write your unique identification number (UID) and index number, in that order, in the top right-hand corner of the front surface of the paper. Except where the question asks for a particular medium to be used, candidates are recommended to consider their choice of media and processes and are reminded that the following are permissible: coloured inks, poster and water-colour, stencil, wax resist, collage or printing from lino, potato, vegetable or fruit or the use of any material such as hardboard or string which will give an interesting texture. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Attempt any one of the following topics stating its number: 1. Design the cover of a book titled ‘THE BIRDS OF INDIA’. Add the name of an author of your choice. 2. Design a card for the graduation ceremony to be held in your school for the batch of 2019. Work within 10ʹʹ× 7ʹʹ rectangle. ‘GRAD 2019 ’ must be incorporated into your design. 3. Design a poster for an exhibition to advertise organically grown fruits. Incorporate the words ‘Fruits from Nature’ onto your design. You can put the date, and venue of your own choice. 4. Design a repeat pattern for a jewellery shop to be used for gift wrapping paper. You can use up to four colours only. 5. In a good foundational hand write the following lines: “ ONE SHIP DRIVES EAST AND ANOTHER WEST WITH THE SELFSAME WINDS THAT BLOW. TIS THE SET OF SAILS AND NOT THE GALES WHICH TELL US THE WAY TO GO” ─ Ella Wheeler Wilcox A small illustration can be made to enhance the calligrapher’s art. Note: Cutting and pasting of extra materials is strictly prohibited.
