A. Answer the following questions:
1. What did Jimmy Jet want to do?
Ans: Jimmy Jet wanted to watch his TV set all day and all night. He loved watching TV
all day.
2. Why did Jim grow pale and lean?
Ans: Jimmy Jet grew pale and lean because he watched TV all day and all night.
3. What does the poet want to say in these lines:
1) From 'The Early Show' to 'The Late Late Show.'
Ans: The poet meant that Jimmy Jet wanted to watch every show from early morning to
late night.
2) He loved to watch his TV set as much as you.
Ans: He loved to watch his TV set as much as you do, which means that Jimmy Jet
loved watching TV like we love to watch and enjoy.
3) And now instead of him watching TV, we all sit around and watch him.
Ans: Jimmy used to watch TV all day and all night until he grew pale and lean. He
watched TV so much that he physically resembled a TV to his family. So now, instead of
him watching TV, they would sit around and watch him.

documentaries, news broadcasts, educational shows, and cultural programmes that can

c) Stay updated: Television is a popular medium for news and current affairs. Watching
TV can help us stay informed about local and global events, developments, and issues.
d) Cultural exposure: Television provides a platform for showcasing diverse cultures,
traditions, and perspectives. By watching TV, we can gain exposure to different
lifestyles, traditions, and experiences.
e) Social connection: TV shows and events often become topics of discussion and can
help facilitate social interaction and connection with others who share similar interests.
Reasons why we should not watch TV:
a) Time consumption: Watching excessive TV can lead to a waste of time, especially

relationships.
b) Sedentary lifestyle: Prolonged TV viewing can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle,
leading to health issues like obesity, heart disease, and decreased physical activity.
