Foreign Languages There shall be one objective type paper of 100 marks with the following components: a) English Composition, Grammar, Comprehension etc. 60 Marks b) General Awareness and Current Affairs 20 Marks c) Reasoning and Intelligence 10 Marks d) Indo-Islamic Culture and Aligarh Movement 10 Marks 1. ENGLISH LANGUAGE Comprehension at paragraph, identification of Common errors; grammar and usage; prepositions. 2. GENERAL AWARENESS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS : Questions will be based on the CBSE curriculum (SSSC level) covering the following topics : Indian Constitution; Political Theory; Indian Polity; Pre and Post Independence; Contemporary World Politics, Human Rights; Archaeology and Ancient India; History of Medieval and Modern India, Introductory World History; Human Geography; India : People and Economy; Introductory Physical Geography; Indian Physical Environment; Introductory Micro Economics; Indian Economy; Foundations of Psychology; Psychology, Self and Society; Games and Sports; Awards and Honours; Abbreviations and Acronyms; Prominent Books and Authors Science & Technology 3. REASONING AND INTELLIGENCE Verbal reasoning and verbal analogy, letter series, number series, syllogism, terms and prepositions. 4. INDO ISLAMIC CULTURE AND ALIGARH MOVEMENT Main tenets of Islam; Sufism and Bhakti Movement; Religious Coexistence: Akbar: Major Medieval Monuments; Encounter with Modern Culture: Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his companions, Aligarh Movement” 1
