SECTION I (Reading Skills)

Read the following passage :

Travelling plays an important role in our education. The terms ‘travelling’
and ‘education’ are interlinked because when you travel you experience and
learn. The instinct of travelling leads a man to see the unseen, to know the
unknown and to unveil the mystery. In ancient times, travelling was very
difficult and risky as there were no proper roads and transport. A traveller
had to pass hills and forests. He had to face the fury of nature, wild beasts,
robbers and many other obstacles.

With the triumph of science, travelling has now become easy, cheap, quick
and pleasant. Inventions in the field of transport have enabled man to take
up voyages across the world. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch
to Kalimpong in the east, our country provides hundreds of places known
for architecture, scenery, culture, music, history, dance etc. A visit to
historical places will give students a practical insight into the past events.
It also exposes one’s mind to diverse cultures. It is a proven fact that
educational tours increases our knowledge and widens our intellect.

Therefore one must take part in educational tours as it is both entertaining
and instructing.
