the course 1. Basic knowledge of characteristics shown by living organisms.
2. Basic knowledge of life processes which students had already
learnt in class VII.

Objective Given the content (chapter) the students will be able to describe the various life
processes present in plants and animals and can explain the various steps
involved in these processes and can draw the diagrams of various systems.

Learning KNOWLEDGE- Students will know and understand
Outcomes  Different modes of nutrition in organisms
 Role of various parts of the human alimentary canal in digesting and
absorbing food.
 Define respiration and explain its importance in plants and animals.

 Explain the system of transportation in plants and understand the
differences between animal transportation and plant transportation.

 Define excretion and explain its importance in organisms
 Explain the process of blood filtration through the nephron.
 Explain the methods of excretion in plants and understand the
differences between animal excretion and plant excretion.
 Use analytical skills to visualize the given scenario and use the
concepts learnt in everyday problems like what is the relationship
between life style and blood pressure etc

SKILLS- Students would be able to

 Critically analyse various physiological processes related to
various systems in plants and animals.
