अध्याय 1 प्रारम्भिक नगरों की कहानी , हड़प्पाई परु ातत्व, सामान्य पर्यावलोकन:
ईटें , मनके तथा अस्थियाँ प्रारम्भिक शहरी केंद्र, खोज की कहानी। हड़प्पाई सभ्यता, मख्ु य स्थलों
हड़प्पा सभ्यता पर परु ातत्वीय रिपोर्ट। विचार विमर्श - इसका उपयोग परु ातत्वेता तथा
इतिहासकारों ने किस प्रकार किया है , मानचित्र कार्य।

अध्याय 2 राजनीतिक एवं आर्थिक इतिहास, शिलालेख इनकी कहानी कैसे बताते
राजा, किसान और नगर है । सामान्य पर्यावलोकन: मौर्यकाल से गुप्तकाल तक की राजनैतिक
आरम्भिक राज्य और एवं आर्थिक इतिहास। खोज की कहानी, शिलालेख व लिपि को पढ़ना,
अर्थव्यवस्थाएँ राजनैतिक एवं आर्थिक इतिहास की समझ में परिवर्तन। उद्धरण
(लगभग 600ई. पू .से 600 -अशोक के शिलालेख एवं गुप्तकालीन भमि ू अनद ु ान। विचार-विमर्श -
ई) इतिहासकारों द्वारा शिलालेखों की व्याख्या।

अध्याय 3 सामाजिक इतिहास - इतिहास रचने के लिए महाभारत का उपयोग।
बंधत्ु व, जाति तथा वर्ग सामान्य पर्यावलोकन: सामाजिक इतिहास की समस्याएँ- जाति, वर्ग,
आरम्भिक समाज नातेदारी, लिंग भेद। खोज की कहानी, महाभारत का संचारण एवं
(लगभग 600ई. पू .से 600 प्रकाशन। उद्धरण : इतिहासकारों द्वारा महाभारत का किस प्रकार
ईसवी ) प्रयोग किया गया,सोदाहरण। विचार विमर्श : सामाजिक इतिहास की
पनः रचना के अन्य स्रोत। मानचित्र कार्य ग्रीष्मकालीन अवकाश के लिए
गह ृ कार्य और परियोजना कार्य।

अध्याय 4 बौद्ध धर्म का इतिहास, सांची स्तप ू सामान्य पर्यावलोकन : (क) वैदिक
विचारक, विश्वास और धर्म, जैन धर्म, वैष्णव धर्म, शैव धर्म की संक्षिप्त समीक्षा। (ख) केंद्र
इमारतें बिन्द ु -बौद्ध धर्म। खोज की कहानी : सांची स्तप ू । उद्धरण- सांची की
सांस्कृतिक विकास मर्ति
ू यों के चित्रों की व्याख्या। प्राचीन भारतीय हिन्द ू मंदिरों की स्थापत्य

ू 600से ईसा कला। बौद्ध धर्म का इतिहास। विचार-विमर्श : वे तरीके जिनके द्वारा
संवत 600 तक ) इतिहासकारों ने मर्ति ू यों की व्याख्या की है ।

अध्याय 5 यात्रियों के विवरणों के जरिये मध्ययग ु ीन समाज। सामान्य
यात्रियों के नजरिये पर्यावलोकन : यात्रियों के विवरणों के अनस ु ार मध्ययग
ु ीन सामाजिक
समाज के बारे में उनकी एवं सांस्कृतिक जीवन की रूपरे खा। उनके लेखों की कहानी, उन्होने कहाँ
समझ और क्यों यात्रा की, उन्होंने क्या और किनके लिए लिखा। इन मद् ु दों पर
(लगभग दसवीं से चर्चा। उद्धरण : अल-बिरुनी,इब्न-बतत ू ा और बनियर। विचार-विमर्श :
सत्रहवीं सदी तक ) ये यात्रा विवरण हमें क्या बताते हैं और इतिहासकारों ने इनकी व्याख्या
कैसे की।

अध्याय 6 धार्मिक इतिहास - भक्ति सफ
ू ी परम्पराएँ , सामान्य पर्यावलोकन : (क)
भक्ति सफ ू ी परम्पराएँ इस काल की धार्मिक गतिविधियों की रूपरे खा (ब) भक्ति एवं सफू ी संतों
धार्मिक विश्वासों में के विचार और आचार। सम्प्रेषण : भक्ति सफ ू ी रचनाओं को कैसे |
बदलाव और श्रद्वा ग्रन्थ

एक सामाज्य की मंदिरों, किलों,सिंचाई सविु धाओं,इमारतों की रूपरे खा (ख) राजनीतिक
राजधानी: विजयनगर व्यवस्था एवं वास्तक ु ला से संबंध, नवीन वास्तक
ु ला- हम्पी। हम्पी की
