Climate change is one of the most urgent problems facing our
planet today. It refers to the long term alteration of temperature and typical
weather pattern in a place. While climate has naturally varied throughout
earth’s history, recent changes are happening at an accelerated pace, mainly
due to human activities such as deforestation, industrialisation and the burning
of fossil fuels.
These actions release large amounts of greenhouse gases like
carbon dioxide and methane into atmosphere. As a result, the earth is
warming, glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, and extreme weather
events are becoming more frequent. Heatwaves, floods, droughts , and
wildfires are increasingly devastating communities around the world.
The consequences of climate change effect not just the environment, but also
human health, food security, and economies. Developing countries, which are
often less prepared to deal with these challenges suffer the most. However, the
responsibility to act lies with all nations.
Mitigating climate change requires global cooperation.
Governments, industries and individuals must work together to reduce
emissions, shift to renewable energy sources and promote sustainable
lifestyles. Time is running out, but with collective action, a more stable and
healthier future is still possible.
