NOTE: The place of centres is subject to change if sufficient candidates do not
register for a particular city/place. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test.
Candidates must make their own arrangements for stay during the online test
(wherever applicable).

11.2 About the Entrance Test

The permission granted to the candidates to appear in online test /counselling is
merely provisional. Final consideration of the candidature is subject to fulfillment of
the eligibility criteria to be verified at the time of counselling.

There will be a common question paper for all Master’s Programs including M.B.A.
(Pharm.) except for Medical devices. A separate exam for Medical Devices will be
conducted in the respective examination centers on the same day in the afternoon
session. The exact time of the exam will be specified in the hall ticket. The question
paper will consist of multiple-choice questions.

a. All PG courses except Medical Devices: The standard of the question paper
will be equivalent to the syllabi of B.Pharm. and PG degrees (MSc.) in the
relevant fields as specified in the eligibility criteria. A few questions will be
from general aptitude, reasoning, and basic English. The duration of the
examination will be 2 hours.
b. PG Medical Devices: The standard of the question paper will be equivalent to
the syllabi of B.Pharm./B.Tech./BS and PG degrees (MSc.) in the relevant
fields as specified in the eligibility criteria. A few questions will be from general
aptitude, reasoning, and basic English. The duration of the examination will
be 2 hours.
c. Integrated PG-PhD: No separate examination will be there for students opting
for admission to integrated courses. Based on the marks scored in the above
examination (s), merit will be displayed for the subsequent interview
counselling.

There will be negative markings in the online test, and 25% mark of a question
will be deducted for each wrong answer. The result of the online test will be
declared on the official website of NIPER Guwahati (www.niperguwahati.ac.in).

14. ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST (COMPUTER-BASED TEST)

Date and venues

The online test shall be conducted on June 23, 2023 (Friday) at the following test-

15. ABOUT THE ENTRANCE TEST

• The permission granted to the candidates to appear in online test /counselling
• The question paper will be the same for iPhD and Master’s Programs. The
question paper will consist of 200 multiple choice questions.
o All PG courses except Medical Devices: The standard of the question
paper will be equivalent to the syllabi of B.Pharm. and PG degrees (MSc.)
in the relevant fields as specified in the eligibility criteria. A few questions
o PG Medical Devices: The standard of the question paper will be
equivalent to the syllabi of B.Pharm./B.Tech./BS and PG degrees (MSc.)

16. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

a. Admission to the Integrated PG-PhD Programme will be based on the combined
merit obtained by a candidate in the entrance examination and interview.
Interview of the eligible candidates for the Integrated PG-PhD Programme will
be conducted based on their merit in the entrance examination.
b. The candidates should attend the online Interview on the scheduled date and
time.
c. Candidates will be allowed to participate in Interview, only if they upload the
requisite documents as mentioned in the “Documents to be uploaded” head
(Section 17 of this brochure) and have to upload proof of having passed the
qualifying degree examination.

Note: No waitlist will be there after the allotment of the seats (post counselling).

17. DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM
The candidates will be required to upload the following documents in original failing
which, the candidature shall be summarily rejected:

a. Matriculation Certificate/Birth certificate as a proof of age and correct name
(file size: < 300kb, pdf).
b. Mark sheets of all the semesters/years of the qualifying degree. Candidates
who are appearing the final qualifying degree, they must upload all
marksheets up to the pre-qualifying examination in a single PDF only (file
size: < 1MB, pdf).
c. Certificate of reservation for ST/ST, if applicable (file size: < 300kb, pdf).
d. Certificate of reservation and certificate of income (showing non-creamy layer
status of the OBC candidates as provided in OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt.
(Res) dated 9th March, 2004 of the Department of Personnel and Training,
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension or any subsequent order
issued by the Government of India in this regard) (file size: < 300kb, pdf).
e. Certificate of reservation under EWS, if applicable (file size: < 300kb, pdf).
f. Certificate of disability, if applicable (file size: < 300kb, pdf).

merely provisional. Final consideration of the candidature is subject to
fulfilment of the eligibility criteria to be verified at the time of Interview.

d. Candidates appearing for final qualifying examination (including NET-JRF) can
also apply, but they must produce final result on the day of interview failing
which their candidature shall be rejected.

12. ABOUT THE ENTRANCE TEST
a. The permission granted to the candidates to appear in online test /counselling
b. There will be one objective type of question paper containing 170 questions of
85 marks, for each of the following areas i.e., Chemical Sciences; Biological
Sciences; Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Management. A
separate exam for the PhD admission to medical devices will be conducted in
the afternoon session on the day of NIPER JEE 2023. The exam paper pattern
will be as specified above.
c. The standard of the question paper will be equivalent to the syllabus of M.S.
(Pharm.); M.Pharm.; M.Tech. (Pharm.); M.Tech/M.E., M.V.Sc., M.D., PharmD
and M.Sc. (In relevant discipline) level.
d. Each discipline will also have questions related to general ‘Pharmaceutical
Sciences’, general aptitude, general English, and reasoning.
e. Duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
f. There will be negative marking in the entrance examination, and 25% marks of
a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
g. The qualified candidates in each discipline shall have to appear for interview
which will carry 15 marks.

13. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission to the Ph.D. Programme will be based on the combined merit obtained by
a candidate in the entrance examination and interview. Interview of the eligible
candidates for the Ph.D. Programme will be conducted based on the merit in the
entrance examination.

The candidates should attend the online Interview on scheduled date and time.
Candidates will be allowed to participate in Interview, only if they upload the requisite
documents as mentioned in “Documents to be uploaded” head (Section 13 of this
brochure) and have to upload the proof of having passed the qualifying degree
examination.
