i) Guernica
‘Guernica’is an oil painting on canvas painted by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. It is one of his
best known works, regarded by many art critics as the most moving and powerful anti-war
painting in history. It portrays the suffering of people and animals wrought by violence and
chaos. Prominent in the composition are a gored horse, a bull, screaming women, death,
dismemberment, and flames.

ii) David (sculpture)David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture, created in marble
between 1501 an1504 by the Italian artist Michelangelo. It is a 5.17 metre tall
marble statue of the biblical figure David.

iii) Sistine chapel ceiling painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512. It is a
cornerstone of high Renaissance art. At Central to the ceiling decoration are nine
scenes from the book of Genesis, including the Creation of Adam. This Chapel is
located in Vatican City.
