It is amazing to know how Helen Keller has inspired so many people. Helen Keller rose
with blind, deaf and mute from early childhood. She was born on June 27, 1880, in a
small Alabama Town of Tuscumbia. She was absolutely normal when she was born and
up to nineteen months, she enjoyed her childhood. When she was diagnosed with brain
fever, she was unable to see, hear or speak. When her mother made her bath, she
noticed that Helen's eyes did not close. She learned that Helen was blind and took her
to an oculist. Later, she noticed that Helen was not able to hear and unable to speak by
the age of three. Next, she noticed that the child did not respond to sound. Helen
would scream for no reason and throw tantrum. Anne Sullivan, an Irish girl, was not only
a tutor to Helen but also a companion of the next fifty years. She looked after Helen in a
cottage and was a great support to her.
