One day, Ahmed was going to school, and an old man blocked his
way and he extended his hand and said : "Give charity for the sake of
God! I am hungry!" Ahmed apologised to the old man because he did
not have anything with him.
When he arrived at the school, he described to his companions the
condition of the old man, and they felt compassion for him, and each
one of them gave Ahmed whatever food or money they had with them.
On his way back home, Ahmed passed by the old man and gave
him whatever he had collected from the students. The old man smiled
and gave him a handful of dates, and said to him: "Take it, this is your
reward." So he took them and went on his way.
