Subject : Misuse and poor maintenance of public park
Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the kind attention
of the general public and concerned authorities to the misuse and poor maintenance of
Hudda Park, near Rao Tularam Square, Mahendergarh. The park has been converted into a
dumping ground for heaps of dirt. It used to be a lush green park with seasonal plants and
flowers. But constant neglect and misuse has made it the ugliest spot of the area. Now it
has become the favourite spot of the anti- social elements. Though two gardeners have
been appointed to maintain this park but they do next to nothing to beautify it. Therefore,
on behalf of the residents of the locality I request you to make the authorities intervene in
this matter immediately.
I hope the concerned authorities will take prompt action to restore the beauty of the park.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully

Hazards of Junk Food
Page 15
Today junk food has become a fashion: people are getting addicted to it. It is cheap and
available everywhere. Its easy availability, advertisements, social media, and parents’ laziness
etc. are some of the reasons for its popularity. Eating fast food or junk food leads to many
diseases. In India every third man is suffering from obesity which results in diseases such as
high blood pressure, heart problems and diabetes. Junk food generally contains trans-fats
which make one obese ,lousy and dull. The unhygienic places where these products are made,
make it more unhealthy. This food at times causes acidity and sleeplessness which brings
energy level down and the person feels lethargic. Children as well as adults should avoid eating
junk food and should stick to the healthy home made food as healthy food is necessary for the
proper growth of children. As it is known to one and all that only healthy people can take the
nation to the dizzy heights. Therefore, eat healthy and remain healthy.

Dear Yogender
You never know what happens next moment in life. I was at Y.M.C.A. swimming
pool. A big boy threw me into the swimming pool. I was nearly drowned. I
became hydrophobic. I tried my best to overcome it but in vain. At last , I
decided to hire an instructor. The instructor put a belt around me. The belt was
attached with a rope that ran over a pulley. He taught me how to exhale
underwater and inhale while out of it. Slowly, the fear slacked. But I was not
satisfied. The fear had not left me completely yet. But I was determined. The
instructor made me a good swimmer. There was no place for fear now. But I
wanted to take test. Therefore, I went to Lake Wentworth and swam across it.

fear of water.

Antarctica is a place to go to, to understand the earth’s present, past and future
because the world’s geological history is trapped in it. The study of this region is
useful to us. To visit Antarctica is to be a part of that history, to get a grasp of
where we have come from and where could possibly be heading. We come to
know that about 650 million years ago there existed a super- continent called
Gondwana and that India and the Antarctica were the parts of the same
landmass. Things were quite different then. Humans had not arrived on the
earth. The climate of the Antarctica was much warmer. Dinosaurs became
extinct. The landmass was forced to be separated into countries as they exist
today. The study of Antarctica is crucial to understand the earth’s present and
future also. It holds in its ice cores half- million- year old carbon records trapped
in its layers of ice. The answers to questions such as “ will the west Antarctica

the end of the world as we know it? “ can only be got In Antarctica.

above man made divisions to serve the noble cause of humanity. Dr. Sadao was
a dedicated surgeon. His specialization was in the science of keeping wounds
clean. He was prejudiced against white men. But he was trained as a doctor
even to save a dying enemy. He did not hand over Tom to the police as handing
him over to the police would mean throwing him into the jaws of death. He
preferred to follow the ethics of his profession and saved his enemy. Hana was a
woman and that too with a tender heart. She was loyal to her husband. She
could not see that man die. So, she helped her husband to save the enemy. The
old General was a selfish person. He lacked national loyalty. He can be accused
of dereliction of duty. Being a General it was his duty to get the prisoner of war
arrested. But he did not do so.
