Study the scene of ‘Antigone’ shown below and answer the following questions:
(i) Who are the two characters shown in the above image? Analyse both of them, [6]
using the 5 W’s of characterisation.
(ii) As a costume designer of the scene above, comment on the costumes of the two [6]
characters.
(iii) If the above scene is being performed on a Thrust Stage, draw a diagram, block [8]
the positions of the two characters and stage sets.
Explain the main features of a thrust stage.

(i) Describe two types of lighting lanterns and their uses. [6]
(ii) To create a mood of fear and anxiety, what type of colours would you use? [6]

Attempt any one of the following: [20]
(i) Siddharth, is carrying 2 buckets of water and walking back to his hut, from the
only bore-well tap that is 2 kms away from his village. A car drives past him
with a group of youngsters shouting and playing loud music. They notice
Siddharth’s buckets and stop the car, and while teasing him, spill all the water
on the ground. One of them grabs a bucket and pours the water on himself
saying it’s a hot day.
Write a 2-3 page dialogue for a Street theatre play using the scenario above, to
bring awareness to the cause. Give names to your characters, and a title.
OR
(ii) The younger sister is upset that the parents are always angry with her older
brother that he dropped out of engineering college but is now a chef in a 4-Star
Hotel. During her growing up years, when the parents were too caught up
pursuing their careers, she only had her brother to comfort her, through those
lonely years.
Describe a scene where the usual topic comes up around the dinner table where
the parents criticise the older brother and the younger sister finally stands up
against them and fights back. Write a 2-3 page dialogue bringing out the
conflict and bring your story to a conclusion. Give names to your characters
and a title and preferably end with a twist of the story.

Question 6
(i) What is the type of staging shown in the picture above? [10]
Differentiate between the staging format shown above and a Central stage. Use
diagrams to illustrate your answer.
