36. One day a lion could not get anything to eat. The hungry

lion roamed in the forest in search of food. After a long

time he could only catch a small hare.

No sooner did the lion raise his paws to eat the hare, he

eyed upon a deer who was coming from the opposite side.

The lion’s eyes twinkled. He dropped the hare down and

ran after the deer to catch him. The hare at once ran

away to get a fresh lease of life. But the deer was much

faster than the lion. In a trice, he vanished in the deep

jungle. The disappointed lion returned hungrier than

before.
