(i) Indira Gandhi v/s the Syndicate : Indira Gandhi attempts to assert her

wing Programme (ten point programme) not appreciated by the

Gandhi supported V.V.Giri , and independent candidate as opposed

the official Congress candidate formalized the split in the party. The
Congress group led by the Syndicate came to be called as Congress
(organization) and the group led by Indira Gandhi came to be called

ideological divide between socialist and conservatives between the
Pro- poor and pro – rich.
