Besides this there are certain short comings of having middlemen in
channel of distribution. Having middlemen in channels of distribution
increases the cost and prices. Sometimes, they create artificial scarcity 2

distribution, they are an important link between the manufacturer and
consumers. So, it is difficult to eliminate them.
