The booklet contains 10 printed pages.
2. This question paper has four sections: A, B, C, and D. The total number of
questions is 52.
3. There are 30 multiple-choice questions in Section A. Four options are
given for each question, choose one of the correct options. Each question
carries 1 marks.
4. Section B – Question numbers 31 – 38 are very short answer type.
Answer any six of these questions. Each question carries 2 marks.
5. Section C – Question numbers 39 – 46 are short answer type. Answer any
six of these questions. Each question carries 3 marks.
6. Section D – Question numbers 47 – 52 are long answer type. Answer any
four of these questions. Each question carries 5 marks.

Read the passage given below carefully and choose the correct

In recent years, climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing global
issues. Scientists agree that the Earth’s temperature is rising due to the increase in
greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. These gases
trap heat in the atmosphere, leading to a phenomenon known as global warming.

The impacts of climate change are far-reaching. Rising sea levels threaten coastal
cities, extreme weather events such as floods and droughts are becoming more
common, and many species are struggling to survive as their habitats change or
disappear. In some regions, farmers are facing reduced crop yields due to
unpredictable rainfall patterns.

Addressing climate change requires a collective effort. Governments must
implement policies to reduce carbon emissions, invest in renewable energy sources
like solar and wind power, and protect forests that absorb carbon dioxide.
Individuals, too, can contribute by using energy efficiently, reducing waste, and
adopting sustainable lifestyles.

The future of our planet depends on the choices we make today. If action is
delayed, the damage caused by climate change may become irreversible, putting
both the environment and human life at risk.

global temperatures have led to melting glaciers, unpredictable rainfall, and
frequent natural disasters. Scientists warn that if urgent steps are not taken, the
earth will face severe consequences like food scarcity, loss of biodiversity, and
rising sea levels. Governments across the world are promoting renewable sources
of energy such as solar and wind power to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
However, individual efforts like planting trees, reducing plastic use, and
conserving water are equally important. The fight against climate change requires
cooperation from every nation and every individual.
