Two girls came in. One bought marbles. The other bought the toy aeroplane.
Last of all, a group of children came. They took the toy elephant, the spinning top and
t he dancing dolls. They left the shop cheerfully.
Why the story is called Ta lking Toys: In this shop the toys talk to one another.
They shout, sigh and hope. That is how we get to know what each toy is feeling.
Tip: Give each toy a different voice. Make the kitten shout, the doll speak softly
and the aeroplane say “Zooooom!ˮ in a big voice.

Why we use such words : “A capˮ tells us very little. “A red capˮ helps us picture

Ta lking comes from “a talking dollˮ in the story. It also tells us more about a naming word.
