I am Ram/Rama, the Head Boy/Head Girl of your esteemed institution. I wish to seek your kind permission to
organise a symposium on the topic ‘Mindfulness and Healthy Lifestyle’ in the school auditorium.

In today’s fast-paced and stressful environment, especially among students, issues like anxiety, poor sleep
habits, and unhealthy eating are becoming increasingly common. A symposium on this theme will help raise
awareness about mental well-being, stress management, balanced diets, and the importance of mindfulness
practices like meditation and yoga.

We plan to invite a guest speaker, prepare interactive sessions, and ensure active student participation. This
initiative will promote a healthier and more focused school environment.

Kindly grant us permission to conduct this programme at a suitable date and time.

Thank you.

Unity in Diversity in India

India is a country known for its unity in diversity. Despite having people of various religions, languages, and
cultures, the nation remains united. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, each
region has its unique traditions, festivals, and lifestyles. Yet, Indians stand together in times of celebration as
well as crisis. This beautiful blend of differences teaches us tolerance, respect, and brotherhood. Our
Constitution guarantees equal rights to all citizens, ensuring harmony among diverse groups. India’s unity in
diversity is not just a slogan—it is the true spirit of the nation.

Suggested Value Points:

• Deep emotional bond and daily companionship

• Shared activities like prayer and school routines

• Unconditional love and understanding

• Respected each other’s space despite changes

• Parallels with real-life grandparent relationships

The author and his grandmother shared a deep emotional connection that went beyond the usual grandparent-
grandchild bond. Their relationship resembled friendship due to their shared routines, such as going to school
and saying prayers together. Even as circumstances changed, their respect and affection never faded. She
remained a calm, prayerful presence in his life, even when he studied abroad. I, too, share a warm relationship
with my grandparents, enjoying their stories, guidance, and moral support. Such relationships give us wisdom,
emotional security, and a strong sense of identity, making them an essential part of our lives.

Suggested Value Points:

• Earth’s natural resources being overexploited

• Environmental degradation: pollution, deforestation, extinction

• The planet likened to a sick patient needing care

• The Green Movement promoting sustainable development

• Steps: tree plantation, resource conservation, reduced plastic use

The statement highlights how human actions have pushed the Earth into a state of ecological crisis. Pollution,
deforestation, and climate change have damaged the planet’s health. The author compares Earth to a sick
patient, urging for urgent care. The Green Movement focuses on restoration through sustainable practices. To
help, we must plant more trees, conserve water, use eco-friendly alternatives, and spread awareness about
environmental protection. Each small step matters. Just as a patient needs consistent treatment to recover, Earth
needs our daily conscious efforts to survive and thrive for future generations.

Suggested Value Points:
• Family took Mrs. Pearson for granted
• Lack of appreciation and empathy
• Mrs. Fitzgerald’s bold intervention
• Transformation in family’s attitude
• Prevented long-term emotional damage

Mrs. Pearson was manipulated and neglected by her husband, son, and daughter who treated her like a servant
rather than a family member. She received no appreciation or empathy. Mrs. Fitzgerald’s intervention was
essential to bring this injustice to light. Her plan helped the family realise their mistakes and change their
behaviour. Without her help, Mrs. Pearson might have continued to suffer silently, leading to emotional
exhaustion and loss of self-worth. The intervention restored balance and respect in family relationships, making
it a necessary and timely move to reclaim Mrs. Pearson’s dignity and rightful place in the household.
